JoAnn Miller, 85, of Honesdale passed away Friday, October 25, 2024 at her home. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Donald Miller. She was born November 2, 1938 in Passaic, NJ. JoAnn was a special education teacher at Maple Road School, W. Milford, NJ starting there as a secretary and finished as a teacher. She graduated top of her class with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and also a Masters +60 in Library Science from William Paterson College. JoAnn volunteered for 15 years at the Honesdale Library. As a young women she loved dancing and performing at the Local venues and YMCA's. She also loved writing, entertaining and arranging parties with friends and family. She enjoyed taking lots of trips to the Jersey Shore, Cape May area and New England Cape Code area. JoAnn was an avid lover of cats and Great Danes and collected decorations with cats. She never stopped trying to learn and was an avid reader. Also surviving are a son Keith Miller and wife Gaye; two Daughters Wendy Bartsch and her husband Brian and Lee Ann Feinstein and her husband Steven. Grandchildren Mackenzie Marie Miller, Joshua Hyun Min Miller, Gabe Potter, Rachel Lee McAdam and her husband Jeremy Robert and Carolynn Potter; great grandchildren Cameron Robert, Luke Joseph and Lily Joanna McAdam and Liam Potter. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Tanzer and sisters Mary, Rose and Carole. Family and Friends are invited to visit between 1-3 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at JoAnn's home at 176 Niles Pond Road, Honesdale, PA. Donations can be made in her name to, United Methodist Church of Wayne NJ., 99 Parish Dr., Wayne, NJ. 07470 or to the Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
