Obituary of Beulah L. Schweighofer

Beulah L. Schweighofer, 87, of Girdland died Wednesday morning, June 20, 2012 at home after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Schweighofer in 1981. Born July 21, 1924 in Rileyville, she was the daughter of the late Merritt Vail and Esther Brill. Beulah was a member of the Girdland United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the outdoors and helping on the family dairy farm. Beulah was a former Republican Committee-woman for Lebanon Township and was also a member of the Wayne-Pike Farm Bureau. She was also fond of bird watching, listening to the radio and crossword puzzles. Beulah will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by a son, Dean Schweighofer and his wife Brenda of Girdland; and a daughter Joan Schweighofer of Girdland; a brother, Carryl Vail of Shippensburg; and sister, Vera Schirrmacher of Ithaca, NY; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a son, Reed J. Schweighofer; a brother, Milton Vail; and two sisters, Beverly Cashmore and Marilyn LaTourette. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday June 23, 2012 at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. Friends may visit on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
