Obituary of Hilda Repsher Lutz
Please share a memory of Hilda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hilda Repsher Lutz, 92, of Honesdale, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 in the Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville "Pete" Lutz. They were married in 1945.
Born in Honesdale on July 26, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Hattie Walter Repsher.
Hilda was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Honesdale. For many years she worked as a seamstress at Katz Underwear Factory. In earlier years, Hilda enjoyed traveling with her husband Pete. She loved to dance and enjoyed many good years jitterbugging at the Fireside with her husband and friends; she was the life of the party everywhere she went. Hilda was a very talented woman; she played both the piano and accordion. The Honesdale Pool was her favorite place to go in recent years as she enjoyed the company of others, especially the many children she befriended while swimming. Hilda drove her car every day and would find pleasure in going to walk in the stores and to sit, watch, and interact the other shoppers. Above all, Hilda thrived on joining in with people; it didn't matter who they were, she loved to visit, tell stories, reminisce and discuss "the old times". She will be remembered for her wit and humor and her special ability to make others laugh.
She is survived by many friends who loved her dearly.
