Joe and I would like to send our condolences to the family of Jim. I personally just met him and his family at a local restaurant. We just went over to say hi, as my husband knew the family, and we ended up talking close to an hour. We are so sorry for the family's loss in his passing. Please know our thoughts and prayers are going out to you all.
God Bless
Joe and Beth Rose

It deeply saddens me to hear about Jim’s passing. I always enjoyed having conversations with him. I have known this family since I was a little child growing up at the lake. A wonderful family enjoying the lake as we all did.Loved it when he would come down the road in the “woody” car. We will keep him in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Jim.

Jim and I ended up being “The Seniors” at Elk Lake, a wonderful place our shared Grandfather A. H. Howell built in the late 1920’s. For a few weeks each year we raised our families next to each other and became the elders of that two-house-community-lawn neighborhood, as our children grew and eventually took our places as family heads at Elk Lake. The ball games, badminton challenges, birthdays and weekend parties will go on as they always have; now with new memories of a man who was an integral part of that world. Jim’s memories now join those of his grandfather AH’s and all those who followed him. I can see Jim asking AH what he thinks of the new cabin Jim played a role in having constructed and showing him around the place. The whole family - together once again. It is only ‘we’ who are missing.
Jim Firmstone will visit us each summer at Elk Lake as have all those we know as uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Jim will never leave us. God Bless you Jim.
Left to right: Jim, cousin Fred, brother John.
