Selflessness to make people’s dreams come true.
As business owners in the trucking business, my wife and I had an instant connection with Bill. We lived in the same circle of his industry. He made the excavation of our retirement property a reality. Although my gratitude goes well beyond the multitude of people who made our dream come true, Bill was the guy that prepared the foundation. A firm foundation is the most important aspect for longevity. Bill knew this to be an important aspect with all his customers. He wanted his projects to last forever!
I’m just one homeowner and business owner to cross paths with Bill. There are many more who know him more deeply than I. His friendliness and openness were infectious, and we became infected with his humility.
I found out from one of his employees that Bill spent his Sundays in the office. I took that tip to visit him many times in the morning and have lengthy discussions about both our businesses, life in general and some private secrets that neither of us would share with anyone. I know from good sources he hated being in the office on Sundays, he called it his dungeon. He would have preferred to be on a bulldozer or meeting with one of his customers. So, I hopefully provided him with the distraction he longed for on Sundays!
As my father would have said “He Was One of The Good Guys”.
We will miss him and he will be in our thoughts forever when we look around our property!
