Denise Sprague, of Dyberry Township, passed away at home on Saturday, July 30, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Gary R. Sprague. Born in Carbondale, Pa, daughter of the late William and June Mignerey Doney she was a graduate of Honesdale High School Class of 1974. She attended the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing, Sayre, Pa where she graduated in 1978. She then began a lifelong nursing career of over 30 years and retired in 2007. She was a member of the Crosspoint Bible Church of Honesdale where she was a very active church worker and loved working with the kids in Awana and Sunday School. Denise enjoyed four wheeling, fishing, spending time with her family, having surprise guests and parties; her door was always opened, and she also loved painting decorative yard rocks. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Ariana Sprague, Simpson; two daughters and son-in-laws: Colleen and Phillip Branning, Waymart and Danielle and Daniel Adolfson, Waymart; seven grandchildren: Luke Branning, Paige Branning, Evan Sprague, Jacob Branning, Alyssa Sprague, Joshua Adolfson and McKayla Adolfson.She was predeceased by a brother William Doney. A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in the Calkins Baptist Church Family Center with services by Rev. Sal Santoli. Friends may visit at the center Saturday morning from 9:30 - 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Crosspoint Bible Church of Honesdale c/o 26 Arrow Lane, Waymart, PA 18472. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, Honesdale.
