Obituary of Francis L. Murphy
Please share a memory of Francis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On September 18, 2020, loving father and husband, Frank Murphy of Rileyville, PA passed away at the age of 81 after battling a series of health issues.
Frank was born in Port Chester, NY to Francis and Kathryn Murphy, who soon moved to the Bronx, where Frank spent his childhood and early adult life with his sisters, Kathryn and Nancy, and brothers, Brian and James.
Frank served his country in the Air Force, where he was trained as an airplane mechanic. After his service, he married Maureen Henriksen and the couple had two children, Maureen and Michael.
Frank's Air Force training and lifelong love of aviation led him on the path to Pan American, where he began as an airline mechanic and would remain for 31 year in various capacities from designing training programs for mechanics to developing management training programs to EEO and HR management.
Later, Frank married Stella Camerlengo and, after falling in love with Wayne County and the surrounding area, Frank and Stella moved from New York to settle there. And as a lover of flight, Frank was always awed and inspired by watching the eagles and other majestic birds his new life in the country brought right to his backyard.
As a lifelong learner and dedicated teacher, Frank went on to design technical training programs for companies in the restaurant equipment industry, eventually forming his own consultancy business in that field.
Frank is survived by his wife Stella, his two children, four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, two step-daughters, Donna and Sharon, and their children.
Frank is remembered by all as a remarkably kind man with an ever-present smile who always focused on the positives in every situation he faced and person he encountered. He swelled with pride at the accomplishments of his children, and lived every moment of his life from a place of gratitude
