Please share a memory of Penelope to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Penny Kreider, born Penelope Louise Highhouse, passed away at the age of 57 in the comfort of her home and company of her family on August 18th of 2021. She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend who brightened the lives of all those around her. Born in Honesdale PA to her parents James and Marilyn Highhouse, she graduated from Honesdale Highschool and went on to study at the University of Rochester before ultimately graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Pharmaceutical Science. She then married Chris Kreider, who enjoyed her partnership for 27 years, moved to Ringwood New Jersey, and had two daughters, Cate and Nicole Kreider. In addition to more than twenty years in the Pharmaceutical field, Penny loved volunteering, travelling, and spending time around her beloved family. Throughout her life- while working as a volunteer Sunday school teacher, a school play costumer, and a member of her daughters' musical associations- the marks she left on the lives of those around her were both profound and innumerable. Everyone who knew her will miss her dearly and fondly remember her love for flowers, penguins and snowmen, watching birds, and having her cats sit in her lap. Her memory remains in her love for baking and travel, which were fostered with her family through spontaneous treats and countless vacations. She was truly a woman who gave generously, taught wisely, and loved unconditionally. She will be resting peacefully in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery and respects can be paid there or in the form of donations to any organization in the support of animal wellbeing or the conservation of nature. A private service will be held for the family
