Eleanor M. Arbuco (Ellie) died peacefully on April 30, 2021 just shy of her 90th birthday. She was born in the Bronx to Charles and Ellen Pollard on June 13, 1931. Eleanor graduated from Walton High School and then began her 37 year career with New York Telephone (later Verizon) in their Manhattan, Spring Valley and Nyack locations. During this time she married Emil (Jim) Arbuco on February 20, 1954. They then moved to West Nyack and started their family. Eleanor enjoyed being with her family. Her door was always open to any family member who needed a meal, a place to stay or just some great conversation. She greatly enjoyed sitting around the dinner table swapping stories. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, playing cards, square dancing and traveling with her "Golden Girls' friends to music conventions. Square dancing gave her the opportunity to meet her longtime companion, Ted Tobia, after her husband passed. Eleanor is predeceased by her parents, her sister Emily Wagner, her brother Paul Polland, her husband Emil Arbuco and her companion Ted Tobia. She is survived by her sister Claudia Schweitzer, her children Jo-Ellen Kenney (Michael), James Arbuco (Sharon), and Douglas Arbuco (Marion). Grandma Ellie will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Michael Kenney, Chrystopher Kenney, Cathleen Kenny, Cassandra Arbuco, Mary Klippel, Joseph Curran, Christina Krutchick, Robert Arbuco, and Valerie Arbuco, James Masko, and Stacy Karwaski. Her 8 great grandchildren will hear stories about GG for a long time. Eleanor's family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, Inc., West Nyack. A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Rileyville, Pennsylvania.
