Our family is so thankful for Pearl being next door to our mom,Pearle Turner ,when she arrived at BV. Pearl was so helpful in a multitude of ways. She offered advice and friendship always looking out for mom above herself. They chatted in evenings and played Rummicube till bedtime. They both talked about their devotions and encouraged each other. Mom said "Pearl was not afraid to die because she was saved". We loved hearing Pearl's life stories about tapping trees and cooking down syrup. She told how she made sauerkraut with her sister's equipment . I heard later how she had made sauerkraut deliveries to my extended family on her road and they all had hot dogs for supper. She told how she helped William with the building if their home and the pies she baked that William loved. The obit didn't say that she held daycare at her home for at least 2 children I know. Even just a factory worker and school cook are 2 important jobs. She certainly did the greatest work of raising 3 sons who love and serve the Lord. I regret that I never got to the Bible Studies she held in her home. She and Mom were very happy to have Pastor Hunt lead a study at BV. We are thankful also for that as well . I am sure she had a lot to do with the VBS that I attended as a kid. I lived across the street from the Damascus Baptist and never missed a yr even tho my family attended the Methodist Church.
Thanking God that she is no longer in pain and tho she is missed already, we know she is in glory!

Aunt Pearl taught me so many things! She was my mentor! I enjoyed baby sitting for her and while there
She taught me how to make current raspberry jelly YUM! She also helped me make the bridesmaids gowns for my wedding. Together we made baby cloths for my first child from Grandma Blum’s patterns. But most of all I appreciated her Love for the Lord and how it shown in her life. We will miss her but she is rejoicing with her Savior!

So sorry to hear that she has passed. But glad to know she's with our Lord Jesus Christ. It was a joy teaching CEF with her and seeing her desire for children to know God's Word.
