Robert R. Redick, 50, of Duck Harbor, PA, formerly of Huntingdon, NY died Sunday, February 5, 2012 at home, surrounded by his family. Bob fought for life every single day after learning of his diagnosis; he never gave up the fight. He is survived by his wife Judy Lawrence Redick.
Born on November 4, 1961 in San Antonio, TX, he is the son of Vera Woodward Dole of Huntington, NY and the late Philip Redick.
Bob graduated from Huntington High School in Huntington NY where he was the All County- All State football player. Bob and Judy were married in 1995 and had three children. He was a dedicated and passionate Dad. Bob cared very much about the environment and conservation of natural resources. He was a Certified Arborist of New York State and a proud owner of "Suburban Mills" in Tyler Hill, Pa and Huntington, NY. Several articles have been written about Bob's efforts to utilize local resources and to serve the arbor industry. He strived for excellence in all he did.
Bob will be remembered for his special relationship with God. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Honesdale and was Wayne County's only member of the American Party. Bob was an unbelievable friend to all, and a one of a kind son, husband, and father.
He is also wife he is survived by three children, Nathan, Sarah and Elizabeth all at home; a brother, Joshua Redick and his wife Kim of Huntington, NY; father and mother in law, Bill and Barbara Lawrence of Fryeburg, Maine; and a brother in law, Gregory Lawrence of Charleston, SC.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Andrews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. in the First Presbyterian Church, 201 Tenth Street, Honesdale with the Rev. Michael Lyle officiating.
Friends may visit at the church on Thursday from 3:00-5:00 PM.
