Benjamin Loran Gager, age 75, of Honesdale, passed away on July 21, 2018 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. He was married to Joan Marie Arnold on June 13, 1970.
He was born on February 11, 1943 to the late Gerald and Verna Rude Gager. Ben was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was employed as an owner operator, and for many years worked for the Wayne County Ready Mix Co. and in later years was employed by the PA Department of Transportation. He loved to go fishing, and hunting. He was especially fond of just visiting with his family and friends and having a conversation especially about current events or politics. He was a storyteller and always wanted to keep our family history alive whether it be his childhood or his times in the military. He also loved his faithful Jack Russell Terrier, Jessie.
Benjamin is survived by his wife, Joan Marie Arnold Gager, his daughter Melissa Tracy and her husband Mark of Damascus, Pa, his son Richard Gager and his partner Stephanie Zuidema, of Honesdale, PA, his grandchildren; Kayley Noelle Tracy, Matthew Loren Tracy and Nathaniel Robert Tracy, all of Damascus, Pa, Kevin Michael Gager, Jacqueline Ann Gager, Loran Benjamin Gager and Sidney Richard Gager, all of Honesdale, Pa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his four brothers, Glenn, Sidney, Llewellyn, and Richard, and a granddaughter Brynna Marie Tracy.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Arthur Bryant Funeral Home , 1228 Main Street Honesdale, Pa 18431 with Pastor Doug Lee officiating.
