Obituary of Rosalie Y. Crum

Rosalie Y. Crum, 64, of Beach Lake, died at home Saturday, November 25, 2017 following an illness, with her loving husband and daughter by her side. She is survived by her husband, James R. Crum; 2 daughters: Renee Halbig and husband John, Melanie Canchola; a son Corey Crum and wife Cristina; 7 grandchildren: Lauren, Carsten, Andrew, Kaitlyn, Corin, Claire and Zachary. Surviving siblings include Craig Roberts and wife Barbara, Melody Robbins and husband Craig, Daryl Garing, Brent Hedden and Brian Hedden, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and daughter Michelle L. Bates. She was born in Honesdale, the daughter of Betty Spettigue Hedden of Waymart and the late John A. Roberts. Rosalie was a graduate of Honesdale High School. Working as a waitress in several locations, she was known for her hard work, and for brightening the days of many with her kind smile and friendly ways. Her greatest accomplishment was that of a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed tending to her home, cooking, baking and gardening. Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street Honesdale. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Indian Orchard Cemetery.
