Obituary of Thomas G. Nolan
Thomas G. Nolan, 74, of Aldenville, passed away Wednesday morning, September 20, 2017, at Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, the former Leona Hopkins.
Born April 30, 1943, in Honesdale, he was the son of Inez Gregg Nolan of Aldenville and the late Gerald T. Nolan.
Tom graduated from Honesdale High School in 1961. He worked for Marshall Machinery for many years where he was a gifted mechanic. Tom was known throughout the local and farming communities as "the Kubota man." Years ago, he enjoyed playing on the original Waymart Horseshoe League, golfing, hunting, and was an avid bowler. Tom was a member of the Aldenville Baptist Church.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care they provided Tom in his final years.
Tom is survived by two sons: James Nolan and his wife, Brenda, of Seelyville, and David Nolan and his wife, Janet, of Tafton; two grandchildren: Gina and Kyle Nolan; a brother, Louis Nolan and his companion, Serina Mitchell, of Honesdale; and a sister, Shirley Brown and her husband, Donald, of Waymart; and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in The Aldenville Baptist Church, 971 Creek Drive, Prompton with Pastor Gary Gilpin officiating.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday, September 24, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA. www.bryantfuneralhome.com
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's memory to The Aldenville Baptist Church, The Waymart Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 186, Waymart, PA 18472, or to your favorite charity.
Burial will be Monday in the Aldenville Cemetery.
