Obituary of John F. Walker

John F. Walker, 92, of Dyberry Township passed away on October 10, 2016. He was born on November 16, 1923 in the Haines area of Dyberry.
Johnnie was the son of the late John F. Walker, Sr. and Marion J. Olver Walker. John F. Walker, Sr. served his country in the Spanish American War.
Johnnie was a hard working dairy farmer who also raised sheep. He sold wool blankets as Walker Woolens. Johnnie served on the board of directors for the Dessin Animal Shelter. He was a local volunteer fireman and a Supervisor of Dyberry Township for over 50 years, up until his death. Johnnie was also an avid motorcyclist and a proud member of the NRA. He was well read and eager to share a story, recite a poem, or opine on history. Johnnie will be dearly missed.
He is survived by a niece, Lorrain Vavra of the Boston area and a nephew, Douglas Vavra of upstate NewYork.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Vavra and a niece, Christine Vavra of New York.
In accordance with his wishes funeral services will be private.
