Hazel Maxine Williams, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, September 25, 2016.
Born Hazel Maxine Stanton in Honesdale on December 12, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Craven Stanton.
Hazel's life was dedicated to family, friends and neighbors. Hazel was very proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren in which she played a great role.
Hazel worked in the family business, Vannie Williams Pontiac for many years. After the sale of the business, she went to work at the office of Dr. Harry Propst and Dr. George Tietjen. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church and engaged in many community activities.
Hazel is survived by her children, Cinda Tietjen, Sally W. Howell, Vannie B. Williams, Jr. and his wife Carolyn, Pamala Box and her husband Thomas, Amy Sue Williams and her husband Tony, Jamie Williams and his wife Kathy; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Vannie B. Williams; her granddaughter, Dakota Lee Williams; and 10 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Rob Kazinski officiating.
Friends may visit on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hazel's memory to Central United Methodist Church, Honesdale, PA 18431.
