Obituary of Diane J. Fox

Diane J. Fox of Prompton died September 5, 2016 at Allied Services Skilled Nursing Facility in Scranton after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband John F. Fox. Diane was born in Horntonville, NY on March 27, 1943 to the late Willard and Catherine McClelland Hempstead. She worked as a dental technician for over 25 years, and was self employed as a beautician for more than five decades. Diane had a passion and talent for cooking, gardening, crochet, knitting, quilting and antiquing. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waymart. Diane is survived by a daughter, Colleen Fox and her husband Chris of Portland, Oregon; a son, Bryce Fox and his wife Carmela of Cherry Ridge; 4 grandchildren, Chloe and Kira Fox of Cherry Ridge and Scarlett and Stella Fox of Portland, Oregon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Hempstead and a sister, Jeanette Doney. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10:30 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waymart. Friends and family are welcome to call in the evening at the family home. The family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Geisinger Hospital and Allied Services Skilled Nursing Facility for their compassion and care.
