Obituary of David M. Martin

David M. Martin of Honesdale died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital . He was married to Janet Welsh Martin and they were married March 14, 1970. David was born March 8, 1947 in Honesdale the son of the late Harold and Arline Swingle Martin. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Spain and Viet Nam. He was an independent truck driver and he loved driving four wheel machines. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Honesdale. David loved his children and grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. David is survived by two sons, David Martin Jr. and his wife Lisa of Honesdale and Gregory Martin and his wife Colleen of Bethany; three daughters, Krista Redmond and her husband Scott of Salt Lake city, Utah, Michelle Mills and her husband Jason of Dunmore , Jessica Martin and her companion Jason Vinton of Waymart; eight grandchildren, Ruby Martin, David Martin III, Levi Martin, Jason Mills, Jr, Sophia Mills, Madison Vinton, and Isabella Vinton; brothers and sisters, Nancy Opett, Robert Martin Sr., Gary Martin Sr., James Martin Sr, John Martin, and Edward Martin; sister in law, Joanne Martin. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Martin Jr, and brother in law, Thomas Opett. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa. Reverend Tim Kapschull pastor of the First Baptist Church of Honesdale will officiate. Friends may visit the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00-1:00 PM.
