So sorry for you loss. As a kid growing up on South St in Franklin, Johnny was someone we looked up to with awe. His sister wrote to him every single day that he was in the service & we all admired him.

"He was known in a wide variety of circles as a man who loved a good debate, had strong opinions, was thrifty when it came to his own needs but had a heart of gold when it came to those he loved and believed in." This sums up the man who came in, so often, to the library where I work. He was a beautiful fixture here -at the same round table on the second floor. He has been so generous to the library and we are all grateful for that. I'll miss his presence here. We all will. The second floor will never seem the same. Thanks for sharing him with us.
