Obituary of Raymond C. Pulis

Raymond C. Pulis, 89, of Oregon Township, Honesdale died Sunday evening, December 20, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness.
Born May 10, 1926 at home in Oregon Township, he was the son of the late Calvin and Ethel (Brill) Pulis.
Raymond was a lifelong dairy farmer and Wayne County resident. After graduating from high school, and working on the farm, Ray served in the United States Army during the Korean War. When he returned home, Ray continued to operate the family dairy farm which he loved so much. For more than 40 years, he was an Oregon Township Supervisor. Ray was a member of The Dairyman's League for many years. He was also belonged to the American Legion Post in Lookout PA, The Hickory Grange in Rileyville, NRA, and Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. Raymond enjoyed photography; he was especially fond of taking pictures of flowers. In addition to John Deere tractors and hiking, Ray's favorite passions were going to see The Old Time Fiddlers in and around Wayne County, and square dancing. He was a well known man in the community and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by a sister: Marion Kolinger of Cochranville, Pennsylvania; and nephews and niece: Donald Kolinger and his wife Dawn of Tennessee, Sharon Runyen of Cochrenville, Pennsylvania, and Paul Kolinger of Honesdale, with whom Ray recently resided and received compassionate care and companionship.
He was also preceded in death by a niece: Lisa Kolinger.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Lloyd Canfield officiating.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 PM, and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Following the funeral service, cremation will take place, and interment will be in the spring in East Dyberry Cemetery.
