Obituary of Frederick J. Garrity

Frederick J. Garrity, age 84, of , Honesdale died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home in Lake Ariel. He is survived by his wife, Helen Scull Garrity. Frederick was born October 16, 1931 in Hawley and was the son of the late Frederick and Isabelle (Hopkins) Garrity. He served in the Army during the Korean war and then worked for Katz Underwear Factory in Honesdale for many years before retiring. Frederick was a member of the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Honesdale. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, David Garrity of Pleasant Mount and Michael Garrity of New Jersey; a granddaughter, Emma Garrity; a brother, Richard Garrity and his wife Jean of Honesdale. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 Main Street, Honesdale, Pa with Rev. Richard A. Mowery of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating . Friends may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, October 28 from 7:00-9:00 PM. Burial with full military honors will be in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Indian Orchard on Thursday, October 29 following funeral services. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's local Veterans of Foreign Wars Chapter. .
