Obituary of William A. Buckingham

William A. Buckingham, age 87, of Honesdale died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Wayne Woodlands Manor of Waymart. He was married to the late Elizabeth Buckingham. Born April 9, 1927 in Honesdale, PA; the son of the late Joseph and Eva Mitchell Buckingham. William and his late wife owned and operated a dairy farm for many years where they raised their family. After retirement, he helped his son Daryl build the New Hope Church in Honesdale. A life lived giving to and helping others, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, neighbor and friend. William is survived by four children: Phillip Buckingham and his wife Kathy of Honesdale, Deborah Thompson and her husband John of Greenwood, Indiana, Daryl Buckingham and his wife Janice of Honesdale, Dennis Buckingham and his wife Renee of Washington, Pa ; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His only brother George Buckingham, along with his wife Janice, reside in Georgia. He is also preceded in death by granddaughter Naomi Buckingham of Greenwood, Indiana. A celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00pm, February 27th, 2015.
