Obituary of Martin Solomon

Martin Solomon, Honesdale, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Hospice VNA at CMC Scranton. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Shirely Mae Robinholt in 2013. Born in Ferris, PA son of the late George and Sophia Vargo Solomon, he was a member of the Cold Springs Rileyville Presbyterian Church. A United States Army veteran of the Vietnam and Korean wars he was retired from the military and enjoyed hunting and fishing and doing jig-saw puzzles with his late wife. He was a member of the VFW Post 7840, Hillards, Pa. He is survived by a son: Bruce Solomon and his wife Kathy, Manson,N.C.; five daughters: Gloria Smith, Equinunk, Irene Bailey and husband Calvin, Westtown, NY, Jeanne and husband Allen Michael, Pasadena, Md, Linda and husband Ray Coons, Port Ewen, NY and Tammie and husband Paul Delaney, Wilkes-Barre; 11 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren. He was the last surviving of eleven children. Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home, 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale with services by Rev. Doug Lee of the Cold Spring Rileyville Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Fairview Memorail Cemetery, Elmhurst. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00am to Noon.
