Obituary of Lois J. Pfund

Lois J. Pfund, 72, of Honesdale, died unexpectedly after a brief illness, Tuesday evening, April 8, 2014 in Geisinger CMC, Scranton. She is survived by her wonderful husband Roland Pfund. They were married for 47 years. Born July 24, 1941 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Alice Box Holbert. Lois graduated from Honesdale High School Class of 1959 and served as classTreasurer for the reunion committee since that time. She owned and operated Lois' Beauty Shop which she opened in 1961. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Honesdale. Lois served on the Wayne County Board of Elections as Judge of Elections for over 40 years. She loved politics and maintained keen interest in the local area. She is also survived by two daughters: Laurie J. Ashby M.D. and her husband Hansel Ashby M.D. of Boise, Idaho, and Lisa J. Pfund and her husband Jeffrey J. Wander of Mexico; three grandchildren: Graham Ashby, Washington, D.C., Kyle Ashby, Boise, Idaho and Colbey Pfund, Los Angeles, CA. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Indian Orchard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lois' memory the VNA Hospice at Geisinger CMC 1800 Mulberry Street, Scranton, PA 18510. Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A.
