Shirley Mae Solomon, 86, of Honesdale, died Thursday morning, December 12, 2013 at Commonwealth Hospice at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her husband Martin Solomon.
Born November 17, 1927 in Fowlersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Grace Keller Robinholt Faatz.
Shirley was a member of Cold Spring Rileyville Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, and entertaining her children and their families. Shirley also enjoyed sewing and crocheting and making baby blankets for her grandchildren and others. She also enjoyed camping, country and western music, and especially spending time with her husband.
She is survived by five daughters: Gloria Smith of Equinunk, Irene Bailey and her husband Calvin of Westtown, New York, Jeanne Allen and her husband Michael of Pasadena Maryland, Linda Coons and her husband Ray of Port Ewen, New York, and Tammie Delaney and her husband Paul of Wilkes Barre, PA; one son: Bruce Solomon and his wife Kathy of North Carolina; two sisters: Jean Cole of Clifford, Diane Mulvey of North Attleboro, Massachusetts; three brothers: Franklin Robinholt of Milanville, Wendell Faatz of Honesdale, Jack Robinholt of Shippinsburg, PA; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Larry Faatz; and son-in-law, Douglas Smith.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Devita Dialysis Unit or the Cold Spring Rileyville Presbyterian Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Doug Lee officiating.
Friends may visit on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst.
