Laverne "Bernie" E. Layton, Jr., 55 of Honesdale, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at home.
Born on September 15, 1955 in Milanville, he was the son of the late Laverne and Joan Fisher Layton.
Laverne enjoyed hunting, fishing, and target shooting.
He is survived by a brother, Richard Layton of Carbondale; a niece, Aubrey Layton of Lake Ariel; a special friend, Ann Brill of Beach Lake; two step-children: Alex Hedderick of Moosic, and Ashley Hedderick of Carbondale; two step-grandchildren: Anna & Alicia; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the Pine Mill United Methodist Church, Pine Mill.

Interment will be in the Pine Mill Cemetery.
