Elizabeth Buckingham, 85, of Honesdale, died Saturday morning, March 9, 2013 in the Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA. She is survived by her husband of more than 63 years, William A. Buckingham. Born on March 28, 1927 in Maplewood, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Packard Gromlich. Elizabeth was a homemaker and spent her life caring for her family and her community. She was a member of the Beach Lake United Methodist Church, and presently attended the New Hope Church in Honesdale. Elizabeth was active on the family dairy farm where she and her husband raised their family. She was well known for calling friends and neighbors to make her care and concern known; especially for those suffering from illness. Elizabeth was also writer of poetry. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. She is also survived by four children: Phillip Buckingham and his wife Kathy of Honesdale, Deborah Thompson and her husband John of Greenwood, Indiana, Daryl Buckingham and his wife Janice of Honesdale, and Dennis Buckingham and his wife Renee of Washington, PA; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Family greeting hours will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 from 3:00-5:00 PM with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 5:00 PM in the New Hope Church, 36 Destiny Lane, Honesdale, Pa Arrangements are attended by the Arthur A.
