John M. Ranze, 85, of Mountainhome, PA, died Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Morrow Ranze in 2010.
Born on August 31, 1927 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Jerry and Matilda Capullo Ranze.
John served in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed a career working at Tobyhanna Army Depot as an Inspector and was an active member with the American Legion Post 922 in Canadensis, where he served as Treasurer. John volunteered as an ambulance driver for the Barrett Twp. Fire & Rescue. He was an avid bowler and golfer. John attended St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis.
John is survived by three sons: Mark Ranze of Silver Spring, MD, John Ranze Jr. of Mountainhome, PA, and Michael and his wife, Tracey Gass Ranze of Milanville, PA; one brother: Martin Ranze of Schenectady, NY; one granddaughter, Marla Ranze of Silver Spring and four grandsons, Cole and his wife Song Yue of East Auroa, NY, Leif Ranze of San Francisco, CA, and Sage and Skye Ranze of Milanville: one brother-in-law, James Morrow and his wife Marcia of Scotia, NY: and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services and Interment will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, PA.
